Drug intelligence / Profile preview
nebivolol hydrochloride + valsartan is a fixed-dose combination therapy being developed by Huahai US, primarily indicated for the management of hypertension. It combines nebivolol, a third-generation, highly selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist that also promotes vasodilation via the nitric oxide pathway, with valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor. This dual mechanism addresses blood pressure regulation through both the sympathetic nervous system and the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). While the combination was originally marketed under the brand name Byvalson, Huahai US's involvement suggests the development of a generic version or a specific 505(b)(2) formulation targeting cardiovascular and metabolic conditions.
