Overview

Nebokitug is a fully humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Chemomab Therapeutics. It specifically targets and neutralizes eotaxin-2 (chemokine CCL24), a soluble protein that drives inflammatory and fibrotic pathways central to primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) and other fibro-inflammatory diseases. By inhibiting CCL24, nebokitug blocks immune cell recruitment and fibroblast activation, interrupting the self-reinforcing cycle of inflammation and fibrosis. Nebokitug has demonstrated favorable safety in clinical trials, with evidence of improvements in key liver biomarkers, reduced progression of liver stiffness, and fewer clinical events compared to historical controls in PSC patients. It is being developed primarily for PSC but also has potential applications in systemic sclerosis (SSc) and hepatic fibrosis. Nebokitug has received FDA Fast Track status as well as FDA and EMA Orphan Drug designations for PSC[1][3][5][6][8].
