Overview

Nedizantrep (GDC-6599) is an orally active, small molecule inhibitor of the transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily A member 1 (TRPA1). It is being developed primarily for the treatment of chronic cough and asthma. Nedizantrep acts by selectively inhibiting TRPA1, a sensory ion channel implicated in neurogenic inflammation and cough reflex pathways. The drug has demonstrated potent inhibition of TRPA1 across multiple species and has advanced to Phase II clinical trials for refractory or unexplained chronic cough, with additional studies in asthma. Nedizantrep was developed by Genentech, a subsidiary of F. Hoffmann-La Roche[1][2][3][4][5][6].
