Neem extract mouthwash is a herbal oral hygiene formulation derived from the *Azadirachta indica* tree. In a clinical trial conducted by Mansoura University, this mouthwash was evaluated for its effectiveness in reducing dental plaque and gingivitis in school children. Neem extract contains various bioactive compounds, including azadirachtin, nimbin, and nimbidin, which possess potent antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. Its mechanism of action in oral health involves inhibiting the growth and adhesion of *Streptococcus mutans* and other biofilm-forming bacteria, thereby preventing the formation of dental plaque and subsequent gingival inflammation. The formulation used in the Mansoura University study was prepared by Nanogate company.
