Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Neisseria meningitidis group a capsular polysaccharide diphtheria toxoid conjugate antigen is an active immunization agent used for the prevention of invasive disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroup A. The vaccine contains purified capsular polysaccharides from N. meningitidis serogroup A, which are individually conjugated to diphtheria toxoid protein derived from Corynebacterium diphtheriae. Conjugation to the carrier protein enhances immunogenicity, especially in young children, by inducing T-cell dependent immune responses and promoting immunological memory. This type of vaccine is primarily indicated for prophylaxis against invasive meningococcal disease in populations at risk[6][8].
