Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This combination represents a comprehensive pediatric immunization regimen consisting of multiple vaccines targeting bacterial and viral pathogens. It was specifically utilized in a clinical trial conducted by the University of Oxford, titled "Impact of BCG on MenC Vaccine Immunogenicity" (NCT01535820), to investigate whether the Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccine enhances the immune response to the Meningococcal group C (MenC) vaccine in healthy infants. The regimen includes vaccines against Neisseria meningitidis serogroup C (NeisVac-C, Menitorix), diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Pediacel, Infanrix), Streptococcus pneumoniae (Prevenar-13), measles, mumps, rubella (Priorix), and rotavirus (Rotarix). These vaccines function by inducing active immunity through the presentation of toxoids, inactivated viruses, recombinant proteins, and conjugated polysaccharides, as well as live-attenuated viral strains.
