Nelumbo nucifera leaf extract (NnEx) is a botanical extract derived from the leaves of the sacred lotus plant, containing bioactive compounds such as quercetin, nuciferine, catechin, kaempferol, and isorhamnetin. It is primarily investigated for its anti-obesity and metabolic regulatory effects, which it achieves by promoting lipolysis through the inhibition of the cAMP pathway and downregulating the expression of fibroblast growth factor 15 (FGF15) and farnesoid X receptor (FXR) in intestinal tissues.
