Nemacide

Nemacide is a veterinary anthelmintic product whose reported active ingredient is diethylcarbamazine, a synthetic piperazine derivative anthelmintic used to treat infections with filarial nematodes and certain other parasitic worms in animals. Diethylcarbamazine’s mechanism is not fully defined but is thought to alter arachidonic acid metabolism and surface structures of microfilariae, making them more susceptible to host immune clearance and impairing neuromuscular function of the parasites. Nemacide is used in veterinary settings as a nematocidal and anthelmintic agent to control gastrointestinal and tissue-dwelling nematode infections, with dosing and formulation varying by species and indication.
