Overview

Nemiralisib is a highly selective, inhaled small molecule inhibitor of phosphoinositide 3‑kinase delta (PI3Kδ), developed primarily for the treatment of inflammatory airway diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, bronchiectasis, and immunodeficiency disorders. It acts as an immunomodulatory agent with anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting PI3Kδ activity in immune cells. Nemiralisib was developed by GlaxoSmithKline and has been investigated in multiple clinical trials for acute exacerbations of COPD and other respiratory conditions. Despite demonstrating an acceptable safety profile when administered via inhalation, development for all major indications has been discontinued[5][6][7][8].
