Overview

NEO-201 CAR-M is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor macrophage (CAR-M) cell therapy being developed by Precision Biologics. The therapy involves engineering macrophages to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) derived from the NEO-201 monoclonal antibody, which specifically targets truncated O-glycans. These truncated O-glycans are tumor-associated carbohydrate antigens (TACAs) that are highly expressed on various solid and hematologic malignancies but are absent in healthy tissues. By directing macrophages to recognize these specific glycans, NEO-201 CAR-M aims to induce targeted phagocytosis of tumor cells and stimulate a broader anti-tumor immune response within the tumor microenvironment. It is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of both solid and blood tumors.
