Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NEO100-02 is a proprietary, highly purified intranasal formulation of perillyl alcohol (POH), developed by NeOnc Technologies for the treatment of high-grade meningioma and other central nervous system (CNS) tumors. Perillyl alcohol is a naturally occurring monoterpene found in the essential oils of certain plants, such as citrus. The drug leverages NeOnc’s patented NEO™ technology platform to enable non-invasive delivery directly to the brain via the nasal route, bypassing the blood-brain barrier through olfactory and trigeminal nerve pathways. This approach aims to improve drug delivery efficacy for CNS malignancies while reducing systemic toxicity and treatment burden compared to traditional chemotherapy or surgery. The mechanism of action is believed to involve direct cytotoxic effects on tumor cells and modulation of tumor microenvironment, though precise molecular targets are not fully elucidated[1][3][5][6].
