Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Neoamiyu is an amino acid infusion solution developed by EA Pharma (a joint venture between Eisai and Ajinomoto) specifically for patients with acute or chronic renal failure. It is a combination of essential and non-essential amino acids designed to provide nutritional support while minimizing the accumulation of nitrogenous waste products. The formulation typically includes L-isoleucine, L-leucine, L-lysine acetate, L-methionine, L-phenylalanine, L-threonine, L-tryptophan, L-valine, and several non-essential amino acids. It is indicated for the treatment of hypoproteinemia and malnutrition in renal failure patients, as well as for perioperative nutritional support. Although the input name suggests an oral formulation, Neoamiyu is administered via intravenous infusion; its oral counterpart is marketed under the brand name Amiyu.
