Overview

This investigational dendritic cell (DC) vaccine, developed by Radboud University Medical Center, is an autologous cell-based immunotherapy designed for the prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer in patients with Lynch syndrome or microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) tumors. The vaccine consists of mature dendritic cells derived from the patient and pulsed with HLA-A2-binding peptides from the tumor-associated antigen carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and frameshift-derived neoantigens (specifically from caspase-5 and transforming growth factor beta receptor II). These neoantigens are generated by the mismatch repair deficiency characteristic of Lynch syndrome-associated cancers. By presenting these antigens to the immune system, the vaccine aims to prime and expand tumor-specific T cells to recognize and eliminate malignant cells.
