Overview

Neoantigen-reactive immunocytes (NRI) are an autologous adoptive cell therapy developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University for the treatment of various advanced solid tumors. The therapeutic process involves identifying unique, patient-specific tumor mutations (neoantigens) through whole-exome and RNA sequencing of the patient's tumor tissue. T cells that demonstrate reactivity against these neoantigens are isolated from the patient's peripheral blood or tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, expanded to large numbers ex vivo, and then re-infused into the patient. By targeting neoantigens, which are not expressed in normal tissues, NRI therapy aims to achieve high tumor specificity and potent anti-tumor activity while minimizing off-target toxicity. The therapy is currently being evaluated in multiple Phase 1 clinical trials for indications including non-small cell lung cancer, digestive tract cancers, melanoma, and breast cancer.
