A neoantigen-specific peptide vaccine is a personalized cancer immunotherapy that utilizes synthetic peptides representing unique mutations (neoantigens) found only in a patient's tumor. The process involves sequencing the tumor's genome, identifying somatic mutations, and using predictive algorithms to select peptides likely to be presented by the patient's human leukocyte antigen (HLA) molecules. These peptides are then synthesized and administered, often with an adjuvant, to prime and expand neoantigen-specific T cells. This approach aims to generate a highly specific immune response against the tumor while minimizing off-target effects on healthy tissue.
