Overview

NeoArt-M is an oral small molecule formulation of artesunate developed by Pamoja Therapeutics, currently in Phase 1 clinical development for colorectal cancer. Originally an antimalarial, artesunate has shown potent anti-cancer properties by reacting with intracellular iron to produce reactive oxygen species (ROS), which induce oxidative stress, DNA damage, and subsequent apoptosis or ferroptosis in malignant cells. NeoArt-M specifically refers to the investigator-initiated demonstrator trial and the associated GMP-grade oral artesunate product used for treating colorectal cancer patients. The drug is administered orally and is being evaluated for its safety and efficacy in patients with colorectal malignancies.
