Overview
Neobitiol is a topical pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Fortbenton Co. in Argentina. It is a combination therapy primarily formulated as an ointment containing Vitamin A (Retinol palmitate), Vitamin D2 (Ergocalciferol), and Zinc Oxide. Neobitiol is indicated for a variety of dermatological and mucosal conditions, including diaper rash, minor burns, eczema, and skin irritations. In otolaryngology, it is frequently prescribed for the protection and healing of the nasal mucosa following surgery or in cases of chronic dryness. The mechanism of action involves the promotion of epithelialization and cell differentiation through the activation of retinoic acid and vitamin D receptors, while Zinc Oxide acts as a physical barrier and mild astringent to protect the affected area from external irritants.
