Overview

Neobun is an over-the-counter (OTC) topical analgesic plaster originating from Thailand, used for the temporary relief of muscle and joint pain, backaches, arthritis, strains, and sprains. It is available in two main variants: a menthol-based formulation and a capsicum-based formulation. The menthol version typically contains a combination of menthol, methyl salicylate, camphor, and thymol, which act as counter-irritants to provide a cooling sensation and localized analgesia. The capsicum version utilizes capsaicin, which targets TRPV1 receptors to deplete substance P in sensory nerves, thereby reducing pain transmission. These adhesive patches are designed for direct application to the skin, providing sustained delivery of active ingredients to the affected area.
