Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NeoCast is a next-generation, solvent-free, shear-responsive liquid embolic agent developed by Arsenal Medical for deep neurovascular occlusion and vessel embolization. Utilizing shear-thinning biomaterial science, the agent remains liquid during delivery through microcatheters but rapidly cures into a durable, nonadhesive elastomeric solid upon reaching the target vasculature. It is specifically designed to penetrate distal microvasculature without the use of harsh solvents or adhesives, potentially reducing procedure-related pain and inflammation. NeoCast is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of chronic subdural hematoma (cSDH) via middle meningeal artery embolization and for the preoperative embolization of hypervascular brain tumors.
