Neohesperidin is a naturally occurring flavanone glycoside found predominantly in the peels of citrus fruits such as bitter orange and sour orange. It exhibits significant **antioxidant** and **anti-inflammatory** properties, with reported therapeutic potential in bone health (including osteoporosis and osteoarthritis), lipid metabolism, and glucose regulation. Mechanistically, it inhibits osteoclastogenesis and NF-κB/NFAT activation, suppresses inflammatory cytokines and matrix metalloproteinases, and improves glucose tolerance while reducing insulin resistance and hyperlipidemia in preclinical models. It is also a precursor to neohesperidin dihydrochalcone (NHDC), an artificial sweetener produced by hydrogenating neohesperidin. Neohesperidin has roles as an antineoplastic agent, hypolipidemic agent, antioxidant, and plant metabolite[1][4][6].
