Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**NEOMERCUROCROMO** is an Italian topical fixed-dose antiseptic solution containing eosin 2%, chloroxylenol 0.3%, and propylene glycol 30%. It is marketed by SIT Laboratorio Farmaceutico for local disinfection of superficial wounds, abrasions, minor superficial burns, mild pressure ulcers, and skin sores. A small randomized study conducted by investigators affiliated with Gynepro evaluated sequential topical use of NEOMERCUROCROMO followed by colloidal silver for lichen sclerosus; colloidal silver was a separate treatment and not a component of NEOMERCUROCROMO. The formulation has nonspecific local antiseptic and protective effects, without an identified single molecular therapeutic target.
