Neomycin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic used in veterinary medicine for the treatment of intestinal infections. It is poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, making it highly effective for treating localized infections within the gut, such as bacterial enteritis caused by *Escherichia coli*, *Salmonella* spp., and other Gram-negative bacteria.
