Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Neomycin sulfate + fluocinolone acetonide** is a topical combination drug used primarily to treat skin infections that are either risk prone to or associated with inflammatory processes that are responsive to corticosteroids. It contains two active ingredients: **neomycin sulfate**, an aminoglycoside antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis in a broad range of bacteria, and **fluocinolone acetonide**, a synthetic corticosteroid that reduces inflammation by activating the glucocorticoid receptor pathway, suppressing inflammatory gene expression and mediator release. Primary indications include dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, and other corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses complicated by or at risk of bacterial infection[1][3][4][5][6][7][8].
