Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Neoparen is a total parenteral nutrition (TPN) solution developed by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Factory. It is a multi-chamber bag formulation containing a combination of glucose, electrolytes, amino acids, and multiple vitamins. Neoparen is designed to provide comprehensive nutritional support to patients who are unable to receive adequate oral or enteral nutrition, such as those undergoing major gastrointestinal surgery or suffering from severe malabsorption. Launched in Japan in 1994 as the country's first triple-chamber bag TPN preparation, it allows for the safe and convenient mixing of its carbohydrate, amino acid, and vitamin components immediately prior to intravenous administration.
