Overview

NEOS-223 is a preclinical-stage small molecule kinase inhibitor developed by NeoSome Life Sciences. It is designed to target signaling pathways critical for cancer cell survival and proliferation, specifically demonstrating the ability to downregulate the phosphorylation of ERK (pERK) and AKT (pAKT). In preclinical studies presented at AACR 2024, NEOS-223 showed potent antitumor activity and induction of apoptosis across several solid tumor models, including lung, pancreatic, melanoma, and colon cancers. Research indicates that NEOS-223 may be particularly effective when used in combination with other targeted therapies, such as PI3K/mTOR inhibitors (like onatasertib) or EGFR inhibitors (like gefitinib), suggesting a potential role in overcoming resistance or enhancing efficacy in MAPK and PI3K/Akt/mTOR-driven malignancies.
