Overview

Neospastil is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical drug formulated as film-coated tablets. It contains three active ingredients: ketorolac tromethamine (a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, NSAID), pitofenone hydrochloride (a direct smooth muscle relaxant/antispasmodic), and fenpiverinium bromide (an anticholinergic/antispasmodic). The combination is designed to provide both analgesic and spasmolytic effects, making it effective for the treatment of visceral pain syndromes such as those associated with abdominal or pelvic surgery, biliary colic, or renal colic. Ketorolac provides potent non-opioid analgesia by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis via cyclooxygenase inhibition. Pitofenone acts directly on smooth muscle to relieve spasms, while fenpiverinium blocks muscarinic acetylcholine receptors to further reduce smooth muscle contractions. This multi-mechanistic approach aims to enhance pain relief and control of muscle spasm without the use of narcotic analgesics[4][7].
