Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Neph-M Plus is an approved ophthalmic combination solution developed by Sapient Laboratories for the treatment of allergic eye diseases and temporary eye irritation, redness, and dryness. It is formulated as eye drops containing five active components: naphazoline (a decongestant), phenylephrine (a decongestant), hypromellose (a lubricant), camphor, and menthol (cooling agents). Naphazoline and phenylephrine act as alpha-adrenergic receptor agonists to constrict conjunctival blood vessels, thereby reducing redness and swelling. Hypromellose acts as an artificial tear lubricant to relieve dryness and burning, while camphor and menthol stimulate transient receptor potential (TRP) channels (such as TRPV3 and TRPM8) to provide a soothing, cooling sensation.
