Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nephrocaps is a prescription-strength multivitamin supplement specifically formulated for patients with renal impairment, including those with chronic kidney disease (CKD) or undergoing dialysis. The product contains a specialized blend of water-soluble vitamins, including Vitamin C, B-complex vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin, niacinamide, pantothenic acid, pyridoxine, and cyanocobalamin), folic acid, and biotin. These vitamins are often depleted in renal patients due to dietary restrictions and the loss of water-soluble nutrients during the dialysis process. Nephrocaps is designed to exclude fat-soluble vitamins (such as A, D, E, and K) that can accumulate to toxic levels in patients with impaired kidney function. The product was originally developed by Fleming Pharmaceuticals before the rights were sold to Valeant Pharmaceuticals (now Bausch Health).
