Overview
Nephure is an orally administered oxalate-reducing enzyme developed by Captozyme, and later spun out to Oxidien Pharmaceuticals, for the management of hyperoxaluria and to assist individuals on low-oxalate diets, particularly for conditions like kidney stones. It functions by degrading oxalates in the diet. The product has undergone clinical development, including a prospective, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, cross-over study in healthy volunteers. It also received Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) designation, allowing its commercialization as a food ingredient.
