Overview

Neracorvir (GST-HG141) is an orally bioavailable small molecule capsid assembly modulator (CAM) developed by Fujian Cosunter Pharmaceutical for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB). It specifically targets the hepatitis B virus (HBV) core protein (Cp), disrupting the assembly of the viral nucleocapsid and inhibiting the formation of covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA). By modulating capsid assembly, neracorvir effectively suppresses the levels of residual HBV DNA and pregenomic RNA (pgRNA). It has demonstrated potent anti-HBV activity in vitro and in animal models and is currently in Phase 2 clinical development, having received Breakthrough Therapy designation in China in December 2024.
