Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nerve Calm is a non-specific brand name used for a variety of over-the-counter products, including homeopathic remedies, dietary supplements, and certain pharmaceutical combinations, all marketed for the relief of nervous tension, stress, and neuropathic discomfort. The most widely recognized version is Hyland's Nerve Calm, a homeopathic formulation containing a blend of biochemic phosphates (cell salts) such as Kali Phosphoricum and Magnesia Phosphorica, which are traditionally used in homeopathy to support nervous system health and address mineral imbalances. Other products under this name, such as those from Nerve Renew or Natural Vitality, are dietary supplements that typically feature herbal extracts like passionflower and valerian root or minerals like magnesium, which are intended to modulate the GABAergic system and reduce neuronal excitability. In some international markets, 'Nerve Calm' (or 'Nerv-Calm') also refers to a pharmaceutical combination of pregabalin and methylcobalamin used for treating neuropathic pain. Because of these diverse formulations, the product does not have a single defined mechanism of action but rather represents a category of nerve-soothing interventions ranging from alternative medicine to conventional pharmacological treatments.
