Nervenruh forte is a traditional herbal medicinal product used to alleviate symptoms of nervous tension and sleep disturbances. It is a fixed-dose combination containing dry extracts of valerian root (*Valeriana officinalis*), hops cones (*Humulus lupulus*), and passionflower herb (*Passiflora incarnata*). The drug's mechanism of action is primarily attributed to the modulation of the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) system; constituents such as valerenic acid and various flavonoids act as positive allosteric modulators of GABA-A receptors, enhancing inhibitory neurotransmission in the central nervous system.
