Overview

NEU-411 is a potent, highly selective, and brain-penetrant small molecule inhibitor of leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2), developed for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. It is designed to specifically inhibit the overactive LRRK2 kinase pathway, which is implicated in both familial and idiopathic forms of Parkinson’s disease. Mutations or genetic variations leading to increased LRRK2 activity are among the most common genetic causes of Parkinson’s disease, affecting up to 30% of people with idiopathic PD. By targeting this pathway, NEU-411 aims to address an underlying cause of disease progression rather than just alleviating symptoms. The drug has demonstrated robust target engagement in clinical studies and is administered orally[1][3][4][5].
