NEU2005

NEU2005 is a first-in-class, orally bioavailable small molecule developed by Neuronascent, primarily targeting Parkinson's disease. It is characterized as a neuro-regenerative agent that aims to reverse the loss of dopaminergic neurons by stimulating the differentiation of endogenous neural stem cells into functional neurons. Unlike standard-of-care treatments like levodopa, which manage symptoms, NEU2005 is designed to modify the disease course by restoring the neuronal population in the substantia nigra. The program has received support from the Michael J. Fox Foundation for its preclinical development, demonstrating the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and promote the birth of new neurons in models of neurodegeneration.
