Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**NeuCeptin** is a biosimilar candidate to Herceptin (trastuzumab), a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody developed by NeuClone Pharmaceuticals using its proprietary NeuMAX platform for low-cost, high-quality manufacturing. It targets the extracellular domain of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (**HER2**), inhibiting HER2 signaling to suppress tumor cell proliferation, primarily for **HER2-positive breast cancer** and **HER2-positive gastric cancer**. A Phase 1 trial in healthy male volunteers demonstrated pharmacokinetic equivalence (AUC0-last, AUC0-inf, Cmax within 80-125%) and comparable safety to EU- and US-sourced Herceptin, including infusion-related reactions and adverse events, supporting further biosimilar development.[1][6][8][9]
