Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Neumonco is a preclinical oncology program from Pneumagen based on engineered multivalent carbohydrate-binding modules (mCBMs) derived from bacterial glycosidases that target tumor-associated glycans on cancer cells.[2][5][8] By binding to specific glycan structures on the surface of malignant cells, these glycan-targeted protein modules have been shown in vitro to reduce cancer cell proliferation, migration, metabolism, and differentiation, supporting their potential as a novel, host-glycome–directed anticancer modality.[2][5][8] Developed using Pneumagen’s GlycoTarge platform, Neumonco aims to exploit aberrant cancer cell glycosylation patterns to interfere with tumor growth and progression rather than targeting a single oncogenic receptor or pathway.[2][5][8]
