Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Neupron** is a preclinical intravenous nanoparticle-based enzyme therapy developed by AxoNeural Therapeutics for acute traumatic spinal cord injury. It encapsulates the antioxidant enzymes catalase and superoxide dismutase to neutralize injury-associated reactive oxygen species, reduce oxidative stress, and limit the secondary degeneration cascade after spinal cord trauma. In preclinical rat contusion studies, intravenous administration after injury was reported to reduce secondary injury progression and improve locomotor recovery.
