Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Neuralgin is an over-the-counter (OTC) analgesic combination product developed and manufactured by Dr. Pfleger Arzneimittel. It is formulated as a tablet containing three active ingredients: acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin), paracetamol (acetaminophen), and caffeine. Acetylsalicylic acid and paracetamol provide analgesic and antipyretic effects through the inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzymes, while caffeine acts as an adjuvant to enhance and accelerate the pain-relieving action. The product is primarily indicated for the treatment of acute mild to moderate pain, including tension headaches, migraine attacks (with and without aura), and fever. It is approved for use in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older and is widely available in pharmacies across Germany.
