Overview

Neuro-2 is an early-stage small molecule therapeutic being developed by Interdict Bio for the treatment of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). It belongs to a novel class of drugs termed 'Interdictors,' which are designed to be orally bioavailable and selectively inhibit protein synthesis. The mechanism of action involves a context-dependent interaction with nascent polypeptides within the ribosome, allowing for the modulation of specific proteins involved in ALS/FTD pathways that are typically considered undruggable. The program is currently in the hit-to-lead phase of development and is part of Interdict Bio's broader strategy to target neurodegenerative diseases using its proprietary ribosome-targeting platform.
