Overview
NEUROBIS is a proprietary oral cannabinoid formulation developed by Avextra for the management of symptoms in neurodegenerative diseases, specifically Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It is one of the few cannabis-based medicines to be evaluated in a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind Phase II clinical trial at multiple sites in Italy. The formulation likely contains a specific ratio of cannabidiol (CBD) to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), as preclinical studies and anecdotal evidence suggest this ratio may help manage symptoms such as sleep deficiency and psychological stress associated with neurodegenerative conditions. The study is supported by the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) and funded by the Italian Ministry of Health[9][2].
