Overview

NeuroEPO is a recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO) protein engineered to have low sialic acid content, which eliminates its hematopoietic (red blood cell–stimulating) activity while preserving and enhancing its neuroprotective properties. Developed for intranasal administration, this formulation allows direct delivery to the brain, bypassing the blood-brain barrier and minimizing systemic side effects. NeuroEPO acts by preventing oxidative damage, reducing neuroinflammation and apoptosis, and supporting neuronal survival and function. It has shown efficacy in preclinical models of neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, stroke, and ataxias. Clinical trials indicate that it can stabilize or improve cognitive function in patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease without causing hematological side effects[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8].
