Neuroinduced mesenchymal stem cells are an autologous cell therapy developed by Biocells Medical for the treatment of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). This therapy involves the extraction of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from the patient, which are then induced in vitro to differentiate toward a neural lineage. These "neuroinduced" cells are designed to provide enhanced neurotrophic support and immunomodulation compared to standard MSCs. When administered intravenously, the cells are intended to migrate to the central nervous system to secrete factors such as brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF), which support neuronal survival and reduce neuroinflammation. The therapy is currently being evaluated in a Phase II clinical trial to assess its safety and efficacy in improving motor function and quality of life in patients with MSA.
