Overview

The Neurologic Stem Cell Treatment Study (NEST) is an autologous cell therapy protocol developed by MD Stem Cells that utilizes bone marrow-derived stem cells (BMSCs) for the treatment of various neurological disorders and injuries. The procedure involves harvesting the patient's own bone marrow, isolating the stem cells, and administering them through a dual-delivery approach: intravenously and intranasally. The intranasal delivery specifically targets the lower third of the nasal passages to facilitate entry into the central nervous system, potentially bypassing the blood-brain barrier. This therapy is intended to promote neuroregeneration and tissue repair across a broad spectrum of conditions, including neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, as well as traumatic injuries. NEST is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2 clinical trial.
