Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NeuroNova (NNV-1) is an investigational cell-based oncolytic virotherapy developed by Calidi Biotherapeutics for the treatment of high-grade gliomas, specifically recurrent or refractory glioblastoma. The therapy utilizes a proprietary line of allogeneic neural stem cells (NSCs) as a delivery vehicle for an oncolytic adenovirus, CRAd-S-pk7. The NSCs are engineered to protect the viral payload from the patient's immune system and leverage their natural tumor-tropic properties to migrate toward invasive tumor cells within the brain. Upon reaching the tumor site, the NSCs release the virus, which selectively replicates in and lyses cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue. This approach is designed to overcome common hurdles in viral therapy, such as poor distribution and rapid clearance by the host immune response.
