Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Neuroskin Spray is a topical local anesthetic formulation containing lidocaine, typically at a 10% concentration. Developed and marketed primarily by Leeford Healthcare, it belongs to the amide class of local anesthetics. The drug functions by stabilizing the neuronal membrane through the inhibition of voltage-gated sodium channels, which prevents the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses, resulting in a reversible loss of sensation in the applied area. Its primary clinical indication is for the management of premature ejaculation, where it is applied topically to the glans penis to reduce sensitivity and prolong the time to ejaculation. Additionally, it is used for minor topical anesthesia of mucous membranes or skin prior to medical or dental procedures.
