Drug intelligence / Profile preview
New Biofermin S Tablets is a probiotic product developed by Biofermin Pharmaceutical (a subsidiary of Taisho Pharmaceutical) and marketed in Japan as a designated quasi-drug. It contains a combination of three live lactic acid bacteria strains: *Bifidobacterium bifidum*, *Enterococcus faecalis*, and *Lactobacillus acidophilus*. These strains are specifically selected to colonize different regions of the human gastrointestinal tract—the large intestine and the small intestine—where they produce lactic acid and acetic acid. This action helps to suppress the growth of harmful bacteria, balance the gut microbiome, and improve symptoms such as constipation, loose stools, and abdominal bloating. The "New" (Shin) formulation is an evolution of the original Biofermin product, optimized for better bacterial viability and intestinal regulation.
