Drug intelligence / Profile preview
New Tiaoxin Decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by the Shanghai Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is primarily investigated for the treatment of mild cognitive impairment (MCI). As a decoction, it is a liquid preparation made by boiling herbal ingredients, intended to improve cognitive function and memory. In clinical trials, such as ChiCTR2000035938, it has been compared to the acetylcholinesterase inhibitor donepezil to evaluate its efficacy and safety in adults with MCI. The formulation is based on TCM principles of "regulating the heart" (Tiaoxin) to treat cognitive decline.
