Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NEXAFED Sinus Pressure+Pain is an oral immediate-release combination small-molecule cold and sinus product developed by Acura using its IMPEDE meth-resistant formulation technology. The product combines pseudoephedrine and acetaminophen for temporary relief of sinus congestion and pressure associated with colds or allergies, and pain or fever associated with colds and sinus headache. Acura's IMPEDE polymer matrix is intended to impede extraction and chemical conversion of pseudoephedrine into methamphetamine while preserving oral decongestant activity; the brand has been associated with commercialization through MainPointe for marketed NEXAFED products, while Acura's pipeline also lists NEXAFED Sinus Pressure+Pain as a line extension for sinus pressure and pain.
