Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nexala is a nutraceutical combination product developed by Laboratorios Farmolab S.L. for the management of osteoarthritis symptoms, including pain, stiffness, and reduced physical function. The formulation consists of three primary active ingredients: Theracurmin (a highly bioavailable colloidal dispersion of curcumin), Akbamax (an enriched extract of *Boswellia serrata* containing high levels of acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid), and Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Curcumin and boswellic acids act synergistically to inhibit key inflammatory pathways, including the COX-2, 5-LOX, and NF-kB cascades, while Vitamin D3 supports bone health and immune modulation. Clinical evaluation in patients with gonarthrosis (knee osteoarthritis) and coxarthrosis (hip osteoarthritis) has demonstrated significant improvements in WOMAC and Lequesne Index scores following a 28-day treatment period of two capsules daily.
