Overview

NexEos Diagnostics is developing a therapeutic program for maternal health, specifically targeting the prevention of preterm labor and preterm birth. The program utilizes proprietary monoclonal antibodies and novel chemical entities (small molecules) designed to detect and neutralize an unnamed pregnancy-associated cationic protein. This target protein is implicated in uterine-placental interactions and the initiation of uterine smooth muscle contractions that lead to labor. By neutralizing this protein, the drug candidates aim to stop, slow, or delay preterm labor, thereby allowing for full-term birth. The program is currently in the preclinical stage, with nonclinical data supporting its potential and plans for a primate proof-of-concept study to identify a lead candidate for clinical development.
